Volunteer Programme Volunteer Programme Note: Volunteers professionally qualified in the field of Psychiatry, Psychology, Counselling or other related fields are needed for voluntary services, during the office hours of the Association. Note: MMHA operates only one centre in Petaling Jaya and its operating days/hours for the clients are Mondays through Fridays from 9.00am to 4.00pm. Volunteers should try to make themselves available during these periods. Rehabilitation Day Care Centre To work with the DCC clients on a weekly one hour session. Activities include: Craft making Art Music/Singing Physical exercise Group discussion Gardening Indoor/Outdoor games Outing/Day trip Cooking/Marketing Language class Counseling & Support Groups A recognized tertiary qualification in counseling is required to assist with phone counseling. Telephone counseling Family Support Group Depression Support Group Administrative Work Typing Fund Raising Activity To organise/plan/run fund raising projects together with the sub-committee Appeal letters Charity dinner Musical night Walkathon Public Education Programmes To create awareness and promote mental health related issues via public forums, seminars, workshops, exhibitions and pamphlets.
